چکیده
The study of chemical fun-ofl' from. land under different kinds of use and managclnent is a high priority with the Freshwater Section of the Ecology Divisiot;I of D.S.LR. The reason for this is simple, Chemical run-off must be a ma jar contribtttion to the"eutrophication of lakes by providing additional nutrients. Of course, chemical runoff occurs naturally, just as eutrophication of la1--es proceeds naturally. The problem is to distinguish between natural chemical run-off and additional run-ofr/ promoted by manls activities, and to determine the extent to which this additional run-off stimulates 'accelerated' eutrophication. Further, if it vi"ere possible to apportion responsibility among Inan's various activities, there would be some, prospect of management to retard

The Effect of Land use and Soil Erosion on Soil Organic Carbon and Nitrogen Stock
Soil organic carbon (SOC) is a principal component in soil quality assessment. Knowledge of SOC and total nitrogen (TN) stocks are important keys to understand the role of SOC in the global carbon cycle and, as a result, in the mitigation of global greenhouse effects. SOC and TN stocks are functions of the SOC concentration and the bulk density of the soil that are prone to changes, influe...
متن کاملSimulation of the catchments hydrological processes in arid, semi-arid and semi-humid areas
Hydrological processes and their spatial distribution directly are relevant to climate, topography, geology, and land use in the watershed. Therefore, use of a model whit integrity and high performance for simulating the process in deferent watersheds is very important. In this study was assessment performance of semi-distributed SWAT model in simulating hydrology processes in three watersheds ...
متن کاملSimulation of Runoff Quality in Sub-catchment of Karkheh Watershed Using a Field Rain Simulator
In this study, the effects of three land use categories on runoff quality was investigated using a rainfall simulator, in six sub-catchments in Kakasharaf watershed in Lorestan province. In total, 39 instances of artificial rain with a duration 30 min were created and the amount of phosphorus and potassium in the resulting runoff was measured on three land uses. The results showed that the aver...
متن کاملAnnual Water Yield Estimation for Different Land Uses by GIS-Based InVEST Model (Case Study: Mish-khas Catchment, Ilam Province, Iran)
Fresh water supply and its security encounter a high level of fluctuating variability under global climate changes. To address these concerns in catchment water management, a good understanding of land use/cover impacts on the hydrological cycle affecting water supply is crucial. The objective of this study is to define a model to investigate the impact of existing land use/cover on water yield...
متن کاملExplaining the Factors Affecting the Distribution of Land Use Change Interests Using the Communicative Planning Framework
Urban land use change is one of the key issues in urban planning that has been addressed by researchers in many different aspects, especially from the perspective of space. But the point that has been overlooked in various studies is that the analysis of different aspects of land use change is not limited to classical and spatial factors, and because of the various interest of land use change, ...
